More dog and cat food recalled in the United States

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Natural Balance Pet Foods has recalled some of its wet and dry food for cats and dogs after several owners said that their pets were becoming sick. The company urges owners to stop feeding their pets the food immediately.

The brands recalled include Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Food.

Last month, Menu Foods recalled all of its 60 million products of dry and wet dog and cat food after pets began to fall ill and in some cases died of kidney failure.

“Natural Balance, Pacoima, CA, is issuing a voluntary nationwide recall for all of its Venison dog products and the dry Venison cat food only, regardless of date codes. The recalled products include Venison and Brown Rice canned and bagged dog foods, Venison and Brown Rice dog treats, and Venison and Green Pea dry cat food. Recent laboratory results show that the products contain melamine. We believe the source of the melamine is a rice protein concentrate. Natural Balance has confirmed this morning that some production batches of these products may contain melamine,” said a press released issued by Natural Balance.

The FDA states that the “investigation remains open and active, and the agency continues to follow leads to get closer to the root cause of the problem and to ensure that all contaminated product is removed from the market.”

“The source of the melamine appears to be a rice protein concentrate, which was recently added to the dry venison formulas. Natural Balance does not use wheat gluten, which was associated with the previous melamine contamination,” said the press release.

Bags, cans and zip lock bags of the food are expected to be the most affected.

“The products are packaged in bags, cans and zip lock treat bags and sold in pet specialty stores and PetCo nationally. No other Natural Balance products are involved in this voluntary recall as none of our other formulas include the rice protein concentrate,” added the press release.

The company states that the food, Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Food, are the only brands affected by the recall.

Ease The Pain Without Addiction At The Back &Amp; Neck Care Center

byAlma Abell

Back and neck injuries happen quite often. A fall or car accident can cause serious issues that can lead to long-lasting pain in the back and neck. Even poor posture can lead to serious issues in these areas. Far too often, these injuries are to soft tissue areas that are difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to correct by a primary doctor. The pain from these issues can last a lifetime and cause serious limitations to one’s daily activities. These limitations can severely decrease a person’s quality of life and, sometimes, limit their ability to work. This can also lead to other issues, such as depression. Many common treatments can pose further complications and limitations. However, treatment at the Back & Neck Care Center can be another option.

Very often, treatments for back and neck pain consist of pain medications. These medications come with a plethora of side-effects, such as drowsiness, that can compromise a person’s ability to perform daily activities. Although the pain may be relieved, a person may still be unable to get out and enjoy their life. In addition, the body adjusts to pain medication over time. This can often require the person to take more pain medication to treat the same pain. Long-term use of pain medications can also lead to addiction. This can be a difficult problem for anyone to handle. The Back & Neck Care Center provides alternative treatments for pain that can lessen or eliminate one’s dependency on pain medications.

Chiropractic treatment can be very beneficial in treating back and neck pain. Often, this pain is caused by misaligned bones, muscles, tendons, and nerves. Manipulation of these areas can help realign the area to promote healing. The stimulation also promotes circulation and helps with healing as well. In addition to manipulation, a patient is also instructed in how to perform range-of-motion exercises, depending on their injury and pain, to improve proper use and promote healing. For many patients, dependency on pain medication can be reduced or eliminated. It can also allow a person to return to a pain-free life. For more information, you can Click Here.

Five jailed in Tyler, Texas following robbery and scam

Friday, November 14, 2014

Four men and one woman were in jail in Tyler, Texas as of yesterday morning following a robbery allegedly involving an elaborate scam.

Police alleged Alneisha Butler originated a scheme to lure a 25-year-old man to an apartment complex in Tyler late Tuesday night, where he was accosted at gun point by four men. Butler and the man had been corresponding online for a few weeks, when she told him she wanted him to meet some friends of hers, according to police.

When the two met at the complex, they were met by the four men who demanded money from the victim. He didn’t have cash, so the assailants ordered him to get cash from an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) while they held the woman until his return. The man left the scene and notified police by phone. The men named as alleged assailants in the crime were Lawrence Caston, Shannon Howard, Justin McGee, and David Roberts.

The woman and each of the four men were being held on a US$750,000 bond. A police spokesperson cautioned, “This could have [just as] easily happened if he met her at a bar as it happened online. If you go somewhere with someone and they start leading you to a place you don’t feel comfortable, then don’t go”.

U.S. judge orders release of President Trump’s tax records, appeals court issues delay

Thursday, October 10, 2019

On Monday, United States District Court Judge Victor Marrero issued a ruling against President Donald Trump finding that New York City prosecutors could view his tax records after a subpoena issued by a grand jury. The Manhattan district attorney’s office is investigating Trump over alleged hush money paid to two women with whom he has been alleged to have had affairs. Such payments could be considered bribery. President Trump sued Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. and his own tax preparer Mazars USA to block the release of eight years of tax returns to the grand jury, but Judge Marrero dismissed the president’s lawsuit. The president’s legal team appealed the decision to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, which issued an administrative stay to Marrero’s order about an hour and a half after the district court ruling.

The appeals court ruling placed a stay on the district court’s ruling until it hears arguments from the president’s lawyers and District Attorney Vance’s office. According to a court clerk, arguments in the case would be scheduled as soon as the week of October 21, with briefs from both parties due in the intervening time until then.

Trump had asked the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York intervene in a New York City criminal proceeding, in which a subpoena had been issued to Trump’s tax preparer. He sought such intervention to prevent Mazars from releasing his tax returns, arguing that, as president, he should be immune from prosecution, and that, by extension, his tax preparer, Mazars USA, could likewise be exempt from investigation. Marrero rejected this argument:

The notion of federal supremacy and presidential immunity from judicial process that the President here invokes, unqualified and boundless in its reach as described above, cuts across the grain of […] constitutional precedents. It also ignores the analytic framework that the Supreme Court has counseled should guide review of presidential claims of immunity from judicial process. Of equal fundamental concern, the President’s claim would tread upon principles of federalism and comity that form essential components of our constitutional structure and the federal/state balance of government powers and functions. Bared to its core, the proposition the President advances reduces to the very notion that the Founders rejected at the inception of the Republic, and that the Supreme Court has since unequivocally repudiated: that a constitutional domain exists in this country in which not only the President, but, derivatively, relatives and persons and business entities associated with him in potentially unlawful private activities, are in fact above the law.

Because this Court finds aspects of such a doctrine repugnant to the nation’s governmental structure and constitutional values, and for reasons further stated below, it ABSTAINS from adjudicating this dispute and DISMISSES the President’s suit.

Following Marrero’s order, the appeals court issued a stay, delaying Mazars’ compliance with the subpoena until it could review the case.

Trump responded to the ruling via Twitter, attacking the subpoena as a political strategy: “The Radical Left Democrats have failed on all fronts, so now they are pushing local New York City and State Democrat prosecutors to go get President Trump.”

The Manhattan district attorney’s office began its probe into Trump’s financial affairs after his former lawyer Michael Cohen was convicted of federal campaign finance law violations connected to payments made to porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal to remain silent about alleged affairs with Trump. Cohen is serving a three-year-long prison sentence.

Trump has admitted to ordering the payments, according to prosecutors, but the U.S. Justice Department maintains a policy of not charging the sitting president with crimes.

In recent United States history, it has been customary, but voluntary, for presidential candidates to release their tax returns when running for office. Trump was the first president to refuse to do so since 1976. Trump has cited an Internal Revenue Service audit as prohibiting him from releasing them. The president has a lawsuit to prevent a New York State law from allowing the House of Representatives’ Committee on Ways and Means from gaining access to his records.

Dxinone E Currency Trading Review}

Submitted by: Charles Cruz

If you are just starting to learn about this dxinone trading system, it’s normal for someone who is just learning about it to be feeling confused about how the opportunity works.

I personally recommend this sytem, and although it’s an amazing investment strategy, Here are some tips when starting the dxinone system:

-When you’re getting started, don’t invest everything you have, and don’t invest next to nothing. The reason I suggest investing a balanced amount: to make it worth your time. Don’t go overboard because you may require the money for an emergency, and the dxinone system takes a few weeks to process your profits back into your pocket. Don’t invest next to nothing either cause your portfolio will take to much time to grow.

-Learn about how the dxinone system works before jumping in without the proper knowledge. I hear about it all the time: (in whining voice) “the dxinone system is just a big scam, I haven’t gotten my money out”. Again, this is due to ignorance about the system, because anyone who is successful with this sytem knows that it takes several weeks to process your outexchanges.

-If you want to make serious money, disconnect your mind from the fluff and the negative people. Let me illustrate this point with an example. Seven days ago I started a dxinone campaign to track the live progress to show the visitors of my site. In total, after the fees and my investment, I spent $315 dollars. Today, seven days after starting my campaign, my investment has grown to $485.19. This means that in 7 days I’ve had a 54% return on my investment. In my book, this is what I call a good investment. Yet, there are still many negative people who haven’t tried the system for themselves who will talk you out of it because to them it’s impossible to find an opportunity were you don’t have to suffer to make good money.

-There are good dxinone strategies you can follow, and there are great strategies you can follow. For begginers, I always give the following advice: If you want to learn fast and start the system fast, get yourself a dxinone training program by a professional, it’s going to cost you some money, but you’ll see results faster. If you don’t have the money to buy a course, make sure you research websites with free content, but keep in mind you will be on your own. This will require more of your time and you will have a learning curve to go through while you learn but you’ll save a few hundred dollars from getting a course. It’s completely dependant upon you and your current financial situation.

In summary, I can share with you my experience: If you are doing the dxinone system properly, you will certainly make good money from your investment. My advice for newbies is always: “Put your money in, let it grow, take the money you invested out, and let your profits grow by themselves without any risk”. This is what I say, and be careful about listening from advice from people who aren’t doing the system themselves, they usually sound very convicing, and they easily spread their fears to other people. Don’t let this fool you, try the dxinone system for yourself, and then make your observations (which I think you will be pleasantly surprised from), not the other way around.

Of course this is a small amount, but an investment in the dxinone system is equivalent if you invest $315 than if you invest $3150, your profit percentage would be the same.

New ‘Star Wars’ film to be released in August

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

George Lucas has announced that there will be one last Star Wars movie to end the saga, but it won’t have any actors visible.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, an animated film is scheduled to be released into theaters on August 15 of this year.

“I felt there were a lot more ‘Star Wars’ stories left to tell. I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward,” said Lucas in a statement to the media.

Lucas says that although the film is animated, people can expect the same kind of galactic space battles and action that all the other Star Wars films have. The approximate running time of the film is 100 minutes.

The film is produced by Warner Brothers and Lucasfilm LTD. The new movie is also set to continue as an animated, 30 minute “mini-movie” series this autumn. The show can be seen on the Cartoon Network.

Monday, October 30, 2006

The winner of the third series of New Zealand Idol was announced by host, Dominic Bowden during a live two hour special at a packed Saint James thearte and the winner was Matt Saunoa from Levin, 21-years-old, who cried when the announcement was made.

Matt beat other finalist, Indira Moala from North Shore, Auckland, who is also 21-years-old.

Matt Saunoa receives more prizes than the other two idols before him, including NZ$50,000 cash, a Daihatsu Terios car and a recording contract which includes a guaranteed single release.

Matt said: “I just want to thank everyone so much. I didn’t think I would make it past the first round and I won the competition.” Matt was lucky to make it past the first round one of the judges, Frankie Stevens, only allowed Matt to progress on in the competition after Matt assured Stevens that he would win the competition. He also didn’t make it past the first round in the first season of NZ Idol.

Before the announcement Indira said: “I had no idea I’d make it this far. You have no idea how excited I am. Whatever happens tonight I’m going to rock it out.” And then Matt said: “If you make me New Zealand Idol I will work my ass off to make sure there are singles and albums out there that do it justice,” referring to past winners, Ben Lummis and Rosita Vai who both had no commercial success.

Centrebet, online betting service, said that their odds on Matt were $1.90 while Indira’s were at $1.80, the first time Matt hadn’t been favoured since September 18.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Helen Clark, made an appearance and applauded the success of the two for getting this far in the competition. And the rest of the final ten also made a brief appearance.

TVNZ, the broadcasters of NZ Idol, are yet to confirm a fourth NZ Idol even though the ratings were excellent. TVNZ will be speaking to South Pacific Pictures of the future of NZ Idol.
