Non Surgical Face Lift: Easy Face Lift Exercises

By Dr Tyng Tan

What would you do if I tell you that you really don’t have to resort to expensive cosmetic surgery to have a youthful face? One of the easiest ways for you to achieve that lifted look without having to impair your skin’s integrity is through face lift exercises. Aside from being painless these exercises are also free! You can do it anytime comfortable for you and as often as you like!

Face Lift Exercises for Your Eyes

There are easy exercises for your eyes which you can do while taking a short breather from work. For example, while your eyes are opened you lift your eyebrows and then have your eyelids partly closed. Hold this for a couple of seconds. Then follow it by opening your eyes as wide as you can which you hold for a couple of seconds.

Another exercise is also done by closing your eyes, and then you place both of your thumbs at each sides of the outer edge of your peepers. And then gently you pull the skin to the direction of the temples. You can also add another stretch by placing each of your forefingers beneath your eyebrows and then you stretch the skin upwards as you maintain in closing your eyes.

Face Lift Exercises for the Cheeks

One simple exercise advised by yoga experts to firm up the cheek is by inhaling deeply and holding a ball air inside your cheeks. You then move that air from cheek to cheek, and then repeat this couple of times until you feel like you need air again.

You can also find the marionette line, which is that indentation that runs from both sides of the nose to the sides of the lips. You press that area near the cheek with your forefinger, and then you move the muscle up and down as your fingers provide resistance. Do this repeatedly for a couple of times.

Lip Exercises

If you want to maintain the firmness of your lips, you can do so by smiling! This does not require that toothy grin, but rather a tight lipped one. You stretch your lips as wide as possible; you hold it for a couple of seconds before releasing.

Another creative way to exercise the lips is by bringing them together like that in a kiss. Hold it and then relax. You can also add in some variation by bringing your lips as they are held tightly together and then released.

Face Lift Exercises for the Forehead

You can exercise the forehead area by bringing both your eyebrows closer together as if in a frown. And then alternate this with a motion that brings them as far as possible from the eyes. You hold this for five seconds before you relax the muscle. Do this repeatedly 10 times for better results. With this exercise you gradually tone your forehead area.

Face Lift Exercises for Neck

A way to give your neck that toned and lifted effect is by extending your neck backward, with you staring straight at the ceiling. You then bring your tongue as if in an attempt to touch your chin with it. You maintain this stretch for a couple of seconds and then relax.

With the same position you can also bring the lower lip over the upper lip. You will feel a stretch on your skin in the neck region. Keep this position for a few seconds and then release.

With this simple face lift exercises, you eventually firm, tone and stretch that facial skin over time. Make sure that you do it regularly for the best results. But also remember to pair it up with right diet and rest.

Three earthquakes hit off New Zealand’s coastal areas, residents warned to avoid coast

Sunday, March 7, 2021

On Friday, after three earthquakes hit near both the Kermadec Islands and about 105 km off New Zealand’s east coast, people across New Zealand were instructed by the government to stay away from beach and shore areas.

The first earthquake hit at 2:27 AM local time at a depth of 10km, and registered 7.1 according to Radio New Zealand. It was felt across the North Island and parts of the South Island. Two 7.4 and 8.1 earthquakes were recorded near the Kermadec Islands by New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Radio New Zealand reported more than a dozen aftershocks, some as strong as 5.4, were recorded.

NEMA had issued a warning around 9:45 AM there was a land and marine threat and flooding was expected on the Northland coast from Cape Reinga to Whang?rei and Ahipara, as well as New Zealand’s East Coast from Matata to Tolaga Bay. However, this advice was later revised. At 2:48 PM, the tsunami warning was cancelled. The newer notifications mentioned “Strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges will continue for up to another 24 hours”, and residents were instructed to “remain vigilant and take extra precautions”.

On Instagram, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern posted “Hope everyone is OK out there – especially on the East Coast who would have felt the full force of that earthquake”. Minister for Emergency Management Kiri Allan stated in a press conference all of ?p?tiki had been evacuated, and “people have done the right things in the regions by picking up and packing up and staying calm.”

South Australia enters week-long lockdown to contain COVID-19 Delta variant spread

Friday, July 23, 2021

With five active cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19, South Australia begun a one-week lockdown on Monday. Announcing the lockdown, state Premier Steven Marshall declared “we have no alternative but to impose some fairly heavy and immediate restrictions”.

The first case out of South Australia’s active cases was presented to Modbury Hospital on Sunday night, having returned from Argentina earlier this month. The fifth, which Premier Marshall noted as “far more worrying”, visited The Greek on Halifax restaurant at the same time as someone who was later confirmed to be carrying the virus. Chief Public Health Officer for the state Nicola Spurrier said “if anyone has been at The Greek on Halifax they need to get into quarantine and get tested”.

In accordance with new regulations, there are only five reasons for South Australians to leave home: essential work, shopping for essential goods such as food, exercise, but only with people from the same household and within 2.5 kilometers (2 mi) of home, medical reasons (which includes testing and vaccination against the coronavirus, but excludes elective and cosmetic surgery), and caregiving.

Schools have closed for all but children of essential workers, with online learning having begun on Thursday. Face masks are also be mandated for those who leave home. ABC News reported that “support for businesses is expected to be announced…”, with all non-essential retail required to close under the new regulations.

Interior signs can be customized to match the style of your office and thus make the space more appealing.

When potential customers visit your business or office, it is important for them to easily find their way around. One of the best ways of guiding them to the area that they intend to visit is by the use of directional signs. This will not only save them time but it will ensure that they do not feel annoyed or frustrated. It will also reduce the amount of time that your staff will spend showing directions. These signs should clearly indicate conference rooms, stairways, restrooms, exits and other key area in your business. This will make your office more convenient and improve the safety of your customers and employees. With clearly defined exits, it can be easier to evacuate the building in case of an emergency.

Arinze and Tettamanzi equal favorites as new Pope

Tuesday, April 5, 2005Irish betting shop chain, Paddy Power, is taking bets for a new Pope. The current front runners are Cardinal Francis Arinze of Nigeria and Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi of Italy, who have each been given odds of 11-4.

“Our feeling is, we held off a few days, and now the cardinals themselves are convening in Rome,” Darren Haines, a spokesman for Paddy Power said.

“We do it very much in the same way as a horse race,” Haines added, “Without sounding so callous, in a sense, we have contenders, and you very much rate the speculation on the contenders, very much by going on media reports in the religious press … Our trading manager is very clued up on this, though she hasn’t had divine intervention.”

The full betting list can be found here.

Pope speaks with astronauts in orbit for first time

Sunday, May 22, 2011

Pope Benedict XVI spoke with astronauts aboard the International Space Station yesterday, marking the first time a pope has conversed with astronauts in orbit.

Organized by the European Space Agency (ESA), the call originated from the Vatican Library at 7:11 am Eastern time. German ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter, president of the Italian Space Agency Enrico Saggese, and General Giuseppe Bernardis of the Italian Air Force were also in the room at the Vatican. Aboard the spacecraft were Italian, U.S., and Russian crew members of the Endeavour STS-134 mission and Expedition 27.

Endeavour commander and U.S. astronaut Mark Kelly greeted His Holiness aboard the spacecraft. The Pope wished Kelly’s wife, Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, well as she recovers from an assassination attempt that took place in January. Doctors inserted a hard plastic implant, or a bone flap, into Giffords’s skull last Wednesday. The Pope also asked of the astronauts’ impressions of the planet from space.

“We fly over most of the world and we don’t see borders, but at the same time we realize that people fight with each other and there is a lot of violence in this world,” Kelly said. The Pope sent his condolences to Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli, whose mother died earlier this month while he was in space.

Key To Success: Motivation

Motivation is not a new concept to most of us. We have felt that first burst of enthusiasm. Perhaps it was an ad or news story on TV, an article in a magazine, a chance remark, or an embarrassing moment that brought us that sudden rush of certainty that something needed to be done…could be done. We felt a strong, perhaps overwhelming desire to DO SOMETHING…something that would change what had been or create something new. Often, this is accompanied by a clear and certain knowledge of what to do, how to do, and what the result would be.

Maybe we decided to lose weight, start a business, or write a book. Still bolstered by our reaction to what we had seen, heard, or felt, were certain of success! We would start that exercise program, or open that savings account tomorrow; we would begin writing a chapter a day…tomorrow. No! Tomorrow was too far away! We knew what we wanted and how to get it and we were going to start today!Nothing could stop us!!Of course, we know what happened over the next few hours, days, or weeks.

The clear image we had of our success dimmed and blurred; perhaps disappeared all together. The daily exercise routine, became a couple of times a week, and then was dropped all together. We quit making the deposit, or the notebook we bought for writing our great novel suddenly seemed too full of blank pages to ever fill.

The dream ended. If we were lucky, that’s all that happened…it ended. For some, however, it lingered on as one more reminder of all the unfulfilled dreams and became part of our self image. It was another defeat to add to the stack.

So! What happened and how do we change it?What happened was a combination of life, human nature, and personality or character.

Life supplies us with a constant stream of information, events, and opportunities. It is difficult to keep sight of the goal and the process while maintaining the initial level of motivation which burned so brightly when it was the new kid on the block.

Human nature has defense mechanisms and weaknesses which combine to cause us to lose the fervor we felt…before we begin to become aware of the obstacles in our path. Sadly, an obstacle does not have to be real to be effective. The well-intentioned doubts of friends and family, whether real or imagined, are both equally effective in extinguishing the fires of desire.

As with many things in our lives, our personalities and characters have a great impact on our success or failure in any given situation. Whether they contribute to our success or become obstacles does not, however, define us as failures! It is also important to note that the factors of personality or character which may be in the way are NOT always set in stone and may be altered so that success becomes a more common state.

Ways to maintain motivation keep our dream clear, bright, and fresh after the first giddy rush of elation we felt when we first felt we knew “the answer”. We cannot change life in general, but we can change how we live it and alter the human nature and circumstances which would rob us of success.

1. Write it down: Whatever the goal or dream, commit it to paper. Often, the dream simply becomes harder to see, more difficult to focus on, as new events and factors evolve. Writing it down allows us to refocus and see the goal again as we saw it when it was fresh.

2. Read it: Carry the paper you wrote it on with you. Make an extra copy and put it on your bathroom mirror, another on the refrigerator door. Take it out several times daily and read it…out loud is best, but silently in the bathroom is better than nothing.

3. Revise it: Things change, we grow, we learn. Be real. Having to alter a dream or the process of achieving it is not failure. It is reality.

4. Log it: Make note of what you did to achieve your goal or what you can do tomorrow or next week. Don’t worry about how far you got, or how much you did…just that you did it.

5. Learn it: Study the subject. You don’t have to go back to school for a degree, but regularly delving into the subject will help keep you focused and perhaps give you new ideas to help you on your way.

6. Share it: If you dare, you are the judge. Letting people know what you’re doing, while being aware that they may have a negative view of it, can be motivating.

7. Read about motivation: These few words are not the only ones written on the subject. There are other ideas out there, and a sentence in another article or a book may be the key you need to go farther than you have ever gone before.

The goal is to keep the motivation level somewhere near the level it was when you started.

Cessna to display seven aircraft and new cabin concept at Paris Air Show

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

The US-based Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., is expected to statically display seven of its aircraft and a mock-up of its latest business jet large cabin concept at the 47th International Paris Air Show, dubbed the LCC.

The seven aircraft expected to be on display are the Citation CJ2+, Citation Encore+, Citation XLS, and Citation Sovereign business jets, a Grand Caravan, a 206 Stationair, and a 172 Skyhawk single engine piston aircraft.

Cessna Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton said of the exhibit, “There is so much synergy now with other companies under the Textron corporate banner – companies like Bell Helicopter and Textron Systems – that we felt it made sense for us to return as an exhibitor to the Paris Air Show… We are particularly excited to have our large cabin mockup as the highlight of our exhibit.”

Cessna originally announced plans for a new large model of business jet for the Citation range at last year’s annual National Business Aviation Association meeting, and the idea has been in development since, culminating in the new large cabin concept design. The mock-up at the Paris Air Show includes a large galley, seating for nine passengers, a toilet and a dummy flight deck.

Cessna claim the new design, which outsizes their previous large cabin and long-range business jets, would “set a new standard for performance, cabin comfort, passenger amenities and environmental friendliness,” if launched.

Cessna refuse to release details such as exact internal design specifications and manufacturers of avionics and engines unless the new model actually enters production. Cessna Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Roger Whyte told reporters that preliminary wind tunnel testing had “fully met… expectations” and that they had “received extremely positive reaction to the performance parameters as well the cabin design of the proposed aircraft from our customer base”, although he warned that there are still a number of processes to be completed before Cessna actually decide whether or not to launch the new model.

HIV-positive man receives 35 years for spitting on Dallas police officer

Sunday, May 18, 2008

An HIV-positive man was sentenced to 35 years in prison Wednesday, one day after being convicted of harassment of a public servant for spitting into the eye and open mouth of a Dallas, Texas police officer in May 2006. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that no one has ever contracted HIV from saliva, and a gay-rights and AIDS advocacy group called the sentence excessive.

A Dallas County jury concluded that Willie Campbell’s act of spitting on policeman Dan Waller in 2006 constituted the use of his saliva as a deadly weapon. The incident occurred while Campbell, 42, was resisting arrest while being taken into custody for public intoxication.

“He turns and spits. He hits me in the eye and mouth. Then he told me he has AIDS. I immediately began looking for something to flush my eyes with,” said Waller to The Dallas Morning News.

Officer Waller responded after a bystander reported seeing an unconscious male lying outside a building. Dallas County prosecutors stated that Campbell attempted to fight paramedics and kicked the police officer who arrested him for public intoxication.

It’s been 25 years since the virus was identified, but there are still lots of fears.

Prosecutors said that Campbell yelled that he was innocent during the trial, and claimed a police officer was lying. Campbell’s lawyer Russell Heinrichs said that because he had a history of convictions including similarly attacking two other police officers, biting inmates, and other offenses, he was indicted under a habitual offender statute. The statute increased his minimum sentence to 25 years in prison. Because the jury ruled that Campbell’s saliva was used as a deadly weapon, he will not be eligible for parole until completing at least half his sentence.

If you look at the facts of this case, it was clear that the defendant intended to cause serious bodily injury.

The organization Lambda Legal (Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund), which advocates for individuals living with HIV, says that saliva should not be considered a deadly weapon. Bebe Anderson, the HIV projects director at Lambda Legal, spoke with The Dallas Morning News about the sentence. “It’s been 25 years since the virus was identified, but there are still lots of fears,” said Anderson.

The Dallas County prosecutor who handled the trial, Jenni Morse, said that the deadly weapon finding was justified. “No matter how minuscule, there is some risk. That means there is the possibility of causing serious bodily injury or death,” said Morse. Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins stated: “If you look at the facts of this case, it was clear that the defendant intended to cause serious bodily injury.”

Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV.

A page at the CDC’s website, HIV and Its Transmission, states: “HIV has been found in saliva and tears in very low quantities from some AIDS patients.” The subsection “Saliva, Tears, and Sweat” concludes that: “Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV.” On Friday the Dallas County Health Department released a statement explaining that HIV is most commonly spread through sexual contact, sharing needles, or transfusion from an infected blood product.

Top 3 Questions To Ask Yourself As A Web Designer

By Michael Bryksa

Web design is an art. And like most art, it is difficult, almost impossible, for the artist to measure his or her own work. For some reason it is simply not possible to create something and be objective about it. If you want an objective opinion, as an artist you need to find someone who wasn’t involve in the creative process to make the judgment. There is simply too much of the artist’s own self in his or her work for her to adopt an objective frame of mind when looking at it.

The same is true for web design, and it is one of the biggest reasons why there’s a lot of websites out there that look like they should opt for early retirement. Many amateur web designers – and there are a lot of them – make the fatal mistake of falling for the same bag of tricks that other web designers fell for when they created their websites in which “subpar quality” is an understatement in describing them. Simply put, it is hard to gauge the quality of your website until you’ve got hundreds of visitors telling you it sucks.

So, for the amateur web designer, here are some tips on how to create a website that’s up to standards:

1. Is my website simple?

Your website is not the place for you to show off your graphics programming skills – there’s school for you to do that. Your website is about business, and your business is the satisfaction of your visitors/customers.

Keep your website simple and direct to the point, adding a few nice graphical touches here and there, but not too much. Make it look modern and up-to-date. Remember if you lose a visitor once, it’s unlikely he’ll come back to give you a second chance.

2. Is my website updated?

The saying goes, “Content is king”. So you put up a lot of content on your website. Great. But all that content is worthless to the visitor if the last time you updated your homepage was back in 2008.

The world is constantly changing, and the same applies to websites. If there are new updates on the information on your website, make changes immediately so all the information and content are up-to-date. I would even recommend you to put a small notifier at the bottom of the page indicating when the website was last updated.

3. Does my page load quickly?

If you lose your visitor once, you lose him or her forever. And most visitors are lost because the website they’re trying to view takes more than 5 seconds to load.

These days what matters is speed, which is why people are subscribing to the fastest internet connection they can afford. But sometimes the culprit is the page itself. Sometimes the web designer embeds too many Flash animations and other shiny effects on the homepage alone. This results to pages that load very slowly, and lots of lost traffic.

As a web designer, make sure the load times on your website are as optimal as possible. Keep things simple, keep things speedy.

Avoid these three common pitfalls of modern web designs, and believe me you’ll get places. Professional web design has got nothing to do with cluttered, outdated, and slow-loading web pages.
