Commercial Floor Mats Why Are They A Necessity?

Commercial floor spaces like factory and industrial spaces always run the risk of a safety hazard. With chemicals, detergents, oils, even heavy equipment being moved around or packed there is always the risk of someone slipping on a slippery floor or losing balance with a heavy product. New safety and regulatory laws have ensured better work space safety for workers. With commercial mats taking on the load of spills and drops working in a factory has become safer.

There are industrial units that require their workers to stand for the entire shift standing. The nature of the work would be such that it requires the staff to work upright especially in the packing, sorting, fitting and even production departments. This causes a lot of strain on the legs. Commercial matting now is available in mate3rials and designs that very gently cause movements in the leg muscles preventing stiffening and painful inflamed veins. This kind of commercial mat is called the Anti-Fatigue mat. There are other commercial mats available that prevent static and are very useful in areas where there is a lot of industrial activity like manufacturing units, these commercial mats prevent static from interfering with the production process.

At the most they can be hosed and drip dried quickly. Commercial rubber mats are great for areas where mats with drainage capabilities are required. These mats are designed with grooves so that any spills in a factory can be drained and the surface is safe for the worker to continue working on. These rubber mats are also anti slip and can be resistant to various chemicals and liquids.

Commercial matting is therefore convenient and a necessity. Even for office spaces that have a lot of customers or visitors a mat at the entrance can not only provide the required protection for the floors but it will reduce maintenance costs and also economical to replace after a certain period of time. These days with interior decor being a consideration companies and offices can get their brand colors or logos oriented on a commercial mat. Drought conditions hit much of US again in 2012

Monday, July 9, 2012

Over half of the contiguous United States is experiencing drought conditions, according to a report released Thursday by the National Weather Service. The report, addressing the period through this coming September, predicted many states will see these conditions persist, or worsen.

Further government reports indicate that high temperatures have played a role in the drought. Additionally, food supplies are being negatively impacted. 22 percent of the corn and soybean crop in key states is reported in “poor or very poor condition”; other crops have also been reduced in the wake of the conditions.

Only days ago, over one million residences in the greater Washington D.C. area were without air-conditioning following a rash of storms and high winds. Reports indicate that temperatures reached at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit (about 38C) during that period. Overall, 18 deaths were attributed to those conditions which extended to several states. Two Tennessee brothers, ages 3 and 5 died after playing outside, according to one report. When asked about weather conditions, a Texas woman told Wikinews, “This heat has been dreadful. I can hardly stand to be outside for more than 10 minutes.”

The National Weather Service’s report noted that, in the southeastern US, some weather improvements are expected across certain portions of Georgia and South Carolina. An Arkansas woman told Wikinews, “…it’s horrible. We’re not used to these kinds of temperatures. It’s so miserable outside right now. It doesn’t normally get this hot here…this is unbelievable.” Sources are referring to this drought as the worst since 1988.

Migrant workers in Dominos Pizza ‘slavery’

Friday, August 10, 2007

Eight Hungarian migrant workers sacked from a Domino’s Pizza franchise in Derby, England are said to have taken home virtually no pay for months because of illegal deductions.

The claim is refuted by the company who said in a statement “We have begun a thorough investigation during which we have scrutinised the franchisee’s employment practices. This took place with his full co-operation. The franchisee concerned is confident that he possesses the evidence required to refute these allegations. To the extent that we have been informed of all allegations and have reviewed all available evidence, we also believe this to be the case.”

The sacked workers are being supported in their claim by the workers union Unite. The union say the “there appeared to be a deliberate strategy of keeping the workers in debt to the company through a series of crippling deductions. The deductions included payments to cover the contract purchase of a car from their employer, insurance for the vehicle provided through their employer, and exorbitant rent for substandard accommodation, again provided through their employer. In addition, some workers had to pay fees of up to £180 for an “introduction” to the company. One worker earned just £5 in four months because of the constant and hefty deductions out of his wage packet. When the workers protested they were sacked.”

Vacuum Cleaner – Is It Right For Your Back Pain Fixes

byAlma Abell

Cleaning is an important ritual that must be followed by all homeowners and business owners. Unless you vacuum on a regular basis, pollen, dust and pet dander could cause havoc with your allergies. This is why it is worth investing in a vacuum with good suction power and a comfortable design. A lightweight vacuum cleaner would be the best option for someone who struggles with back pain or who doesn’t want to ache too much after a dust bunny blasting session, because these appliances are compact, easy to use and can be stored in small spaces. If you want to be the cleaner of the household without struggling to manoeuvre the machine, learn what makes these backpack cleaners such a necessity for many.

Simple Back and Forth Movement

Back pain can affect your lifestyle in many ways, not to mention the ways in which it can put your cleaning duties on hold. A heavy device can be difficult to manoeuvre, lift and turn around corners, even with handy attachments fitted. Lightweight Vacuum cleaners are a very powerful match compared to other devices, because they are equally as powerful but will be easier to use. Not only is their outer casing crafted with featherweight materials but also, they have a smooth back and forth rolling system, thus reducing back and muscle strain.

Easy Cleaning in Hard to Reach Areas

Everybody has gone through the hassle of trying to clean underneath the stairs, behind bookcases, in-between furniture and under the bed from time to time. With a typical vacuum cleaner this can prove to be a very difficult task, which is why investing in a lightweight backpack vacuum cleaner is worthwhile if you don’t want to miss a dusty spot. Crevice tools, nozzles and brushes on these ergonomically designed appliances will ease the cleaning process and speeds things up, too!

Ukraine passes bill on war-torn eastern regions

Saturday, January 20, 2018

On Thursday, the Ukrainian Parliament passed a new bill called the “Donbass reintegration law”. It describes the regions — oblasts — of Donetsk and Luhansk as being “temporarily occupied” by Russia and declares Russia to be the “aggressor”.

The bill calls for a return of the regions to Ukrainian control by military force if necessary. There is no mention of the February 2015 Minsk agreement which was signed by the Ukrainian government and rebel groups, and brokered by France and Germany.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated on Twitter, “We will continue to pave the way for reintegration of the occupied Ukrainian lands through political and diplomatic steps.” ((ukr))Ukrainian language: ??? ???????????????? ?????????? ???? ??? ???????????? ?????????? ??????????? ?????? ????????-????????????? ??????. Former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said this forms a legal basis for a United Nations peacekeeping force to “remove the Russian army from Ukrainian territory”. Legislator Ivan Vinnyk commented on why the Minsk agreement was not mentioned in the bill: “We can’t embed diplomatic and political agreements that are prone to change into the Ukrainian legislation”.

Russia’s foreign ministry quickly denounced the law and claimed it was proof Ukraine is preparing for a new war. Furthermore, the law “risked a dangerous escalation in Ukraine with unpredictable consequences for world peace and security”, the official statement said.

“Kiev has gone from sabotaging the Minsk agreements to burying them,” said Konstantin Kosachev, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee for the Federation Council in Russia. Alexander Zakharchenko, leader of one of the rebel groups in eastern Ukraine, also expressed sharp criticism. Zakharchenko said it was a violation of the Minsk agreement and could lead to an escalation of the armed conflict.

Fighting in eastern Ukraine began shortly after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 and has by reports claimed over 10,000 lives. About 1.7 million people, Al Jazeera reports, have been displaced from their homes due to the fighting.
